Integrated Management System
 National strategy and clear regulation (Government/
Regulator)
 The establishment and implementation of an integrated
management system is paramount to the proper
management of DSRS.
o Enhancement of documentation and tracking
system (Operator/Regulator)
o Integration of safety, security and safeguards
(Operator/Government/Regulator)
 Procedures have been drawn up to ensure the activities
are carried out safely and in minimal time reasonably
possible to optimize safety and protection and to ensure
that no individual dose constraints or limits are
exceeded (Operator).
 Integrate management system for implementation of SC
and safety reqs.
o Review existing management system and related
requirements (Operator/Regulator).
o Develop an action plan for the establishment of the
integrated management system including SOPs
(Operator/Regulator)
o Development of RP system and procedures
(Regulator/Operator)
o Preparation an initial decommissioning plan for the
RF (Operator)
o Review and finalization of the WAC document for
the RF (Operator)
o Emergency response system and procedures
(Operator/Regulator)

SC should address graded approach to country situation.
 Training to receive appropriate knowledge how to
prepare/review/assess the SC (Operator and Regulator)
o Training on SA including developing of scenarios
and use of models and codes (SAFRAN, RESRAD
etc.)
o Training on management of uncertainties
(quantifiable and non-quantifiable)
 Workshops to exchange of knowledge and information
regarding SC (Operator and Regulator)
o Overlap of SC for multiple facilities
o Workshop on tailoring the SC to country needs
o Inspection process for prior and during
implementation of SC
o To develop WAC
o Integration and harmonization of SCs for
predisposal and disposal
o Specific SC for predisposal management of mill
tailing and DU
o SC for long term storage of spent fuel and HLW
o Predisposal management of large components from
decommissioning of NPPs
o Transportation of RAW, packaging and
transportation including large components
o Spent fuel processing SC
o SC for management of RAW generated from legacy
sites
 Expert missions (EM) to the countries
o EM to the countries which are in preparation of
national strategy, SCs or in revision of SC
o EM site end engineering analysis
o EM review of Regulator and Operator management
system
 Scientific visits (SVs)/Fellowships (FWs)/Meetings to
the developed countries for receiving and exchanging
appropriate knowledge regarding SC preparation and
implementation
 Bilateral and multilateral cooperation for SC
implementation
*-IAEA will prioritize based on resources and
assessment of needs.
