President’s Report: Moira Malavich
Roller Kingdom was a great night and everyone had fun and money was made
Spirit week going on and pictures are being posted on the Facebook Page
Enrichment has a lot of good things going on
Winter Concert was great
First “Coffee Talk” went well – next one scheduled for 2/14
Possibly add an activity for adults like a “bingo night or casino night” o Need to look into rules – Nancy March will review
Treasurer’s Report: Nancy March
Roller Kingdom made $750 profit (smaller amounts on other items have coming in)
McCarthy will be getting @ $3,595.71 voted in from Council of Chelmsford Schools o Money was not in the budget
Paid out for several cultural enrichment programs o Donation to Wednesday’s Child
Money given out to Nurse fund and families in need

Spirit Week
Barry Burbank came Monday with the 5 th Graders and spent @ an hour ½ with the kids
– great program
Term 3 has begun
Working on a couple of surveys o Parents Survey – almost complete; could go out in March o Student Survey – still being worked on
Pennies for Patients ongoing
Student Advisory o Each grade different lesson and cut out snowflakes with different “themes” and colors with the snowflakes

Looking at what needs to be updated and will do walk throughs ex: auditorium o Could be a few years of planning
MCAS coming up and dates to be published
Science and Math testing beginning of May
PARCC testing for selected groups the end of May
Teacher’s Report: Mr. Rob Asselin
Archaeologist was a great program o Able to hold artifacts o Children will all on tasks and asked great questions o She has an expanded program that can be looked into
Will be requesting funds in February for Quebec o Amount is $693 pp - @152 children going
Requesting $43 per student o @ 70 will stay to attend Patriots Place and 5 Wits and possibly another activity
Requesting $15 per student
Discussion @ request for $43 per student o Budget is $25 for 2014 – possibly give $25 - $30 o Maybe next year run a fundraiser for the 8 th Grade Trip only o Rock a thon can possibly change the way the money is distributed (scholarship vs. trip) o Car Wash will be coming up
School Committee Report: Mike Rigney
Couple of meetings: o New Asst Superintendent – Dr. Linda Hirsch end of June o ELA Coordinator will be needed o Literacy with Linda – good intro to who she is
Turf Fields RFP being reviewed by lawyers o Bidding will begin at 25K per year for a 3 year term – we will know more in about month & ½
Funds will go into a revolving account until the bond is paid off o HS Side or top score board facing stands & on fence
If facing the public, the planning board feels they have a say, however, there seems to be no issues – we hang the signs and it will be maroon and white – no logos on turf o Professional soccer team MAY be interested in renting the fields

Food Service – April Laskey o Financially they are supposed to be a standalone department and last year they lost @ 150K
Need to get the sales up
Revenue growth will most likely come from Middle School and High
School
High school grill doing well
Continue to look at foods the children like o Vision for food service is a functioning kitchen at each and every school
Town Meeting will be the end of April
Enrichment:
McCarthy Family Astronomy Night proposed o We have two telescopes we could “dust off” o 7:30 – 9pm during the 1 st week of March
Date could be changed if cloudy
- what about snow where we set up? o Further suggestions mentioned
