John Inch, general manager of the National Waterways Museum said: “The 1940’s was an interesting time for Britain’s canals – it was the very end of their role as the hard-working arteries of the Industrial Revolution. Many of the men who worked on them went to fight in the Second World War and during that time we can’t forget the work if the Idle Women – the women who volunteered to work the canal boats during this time. Our Event promises to be entertaining for all the family – reliving for some and educating for others!” Canal & River Trust T 0203 204 4514 E press.office@canalrivertrust.org.uk www.canalrivertrust.org.uk Patron: H.R.H. Theatrical Practitioner and Director, Laura J Harris said: “We've been lucky to enjoy a string of successes with our indoor and outdoor, site-specific Shakespearean adaptations in recent months. I say we've been lucky, but in fact everyone has worked incredibly hard and really deserves the success they created. However, for Halloween we thought we'd leave The Bard behind and try our hands at bit of Murder Mystery! So far, it's been great fun and I hope that plenty of people come along and get into the spirit of things on the 30th and 31st! Initially there will be Music and Party Games and Goodies before the chaos descends so come along and put your Detective's thinking cap on!" The Boaty Theatre Company are a community and youth theatre company based at the National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port. Established in 2010, they have thrilled and surprised audiences with their individuality and creativity in adapting and inventing site-specific spectaculars at the museum.
