Kevin Crawford’s Eastern Vikings Basketball Camp
For Boys and Girls Entering Grades 1-9

Bring your own basketball and plenty of water
This is a workout camp with individual attention designed at developing skills & practicing the fundamentals
of the game. We will make you a better player through competition & skill work. Emphasis:
 Dribbling: Fundamentals of dribbling using the four basic change of directions; emphasis on weak
hand, pivoting, passing. These drills will make you a better overall player.
 Shooting: You can’t score if you don’t shoot. Designed to teach the basic mechanics of shooting and
give the camper plenty of repetitions.
 Passing: Nobody likes to play with a teammate that does not pass. Learn the skill of passing and how to
make your teammates better
 Defense: Defense wins championships, just ask the Denver Broncos. Fundamentals of defense and why
coaches put their best 5 defenders on the court at the end of close games.
 Scrimmaging: Skill work is important, but it’s more fun to play. We will teach 1 on 1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3,
and eventually get to 5 on 5 controlled scrimmages. Spacing and moving without the ball is stressed.
Camp Director: Kevin Crawford
Kevin is the head Basketball Coach at Eastern High School. Kevin has been in education for 12 years now, the
past six as head coach and history teacher at Pitman High School. Career record at Pitman: 142-36; 2014 State
Champs; 2011 Courier Post SJ Coach of the Year. Scored over 1,000 points at Camden Catholic and still alltime assists leader
-Staff will also include several area coaches and college players including: Luke Dickson (Chestnut Hill), Eric
Stafford (Lafayette), Billy McCaffrey (Duke), Jeff Klauder (Wagner), and more
