A quorum was determined.

Treasurer’s Report: $25,000 of the $240,000 of the fall season fees have been collected. There is
$42,000 in the various accounts. Spring season has been fully collected. We are running tight on funds at the moment but that should loosen up as the third payments made. Labor Day and Silversitick
Tournaments will also help to improve cash flow.
Payments need to be taken in physical form at this time. When the accounts were switched from the old to the new messed up the processing of funds. Sportngin has collected funds but unable to send us the funds. Also, the payment choices were selected in the wrong increments. The only available is to pay for the entire season. We ask that all members refrain from paying online. Please go through the registration process but select off-line payment only. PayPal is not operational yet either because we have to wait on a MYTH PayPal account approval.
Old Business:
Website: Need members to register, so they can then be given access to the team pages. Game schedules, and rosters are being posted and corrected. Claim the profile of you athlete and you will be able to edit some of the information contained on page.
Don’t make membership dues online! We will make an announcement when this is corrected.
Managers will be given access to team page editing in the near future.
Mites Division:
There was a meeting last Tuesday August 6 th to develop a partnership with the rink’s ADM program. The goal is to develop the current players we have and expand the membership in this age group. The CFHL season does not start until January, but there will be cross Ice jamborees that are being organized and paid for by SAHOF. The Mite will have a number of required cross-ice games they will have to play prior to the full ice season in order to be eligible. The jamborees are designed to help the teams meet that requirement.
After this season the Mite will only be able to play cross ice or half ice games. The partnership with the rink’s ADM program is to potentially foster Mites rec league. This will help expand the age division, bring kids into the sport, and new travel hockey families into MYTH.
New Business:
Cross-ice Boards: As an investment, and need for the Mites division; MYTH is purchasing a crossice board system that makes one rink into two half rinks with rounded corner. This will facilitate the small rink requirements for the age group, while keeping the feel of a normal hockey game.
The investment is in two ways: first, this will give us up to date equipment and keep us competitive with other rinks. Attracting player is the future of our program. Second, there are nine sections on the board across the rink, and we would like to sell each side of them for advertising revenue. The set of boards cost $7,625.00. The proposal is to sell each section for $1,000 a year, with a
$500 renewal each successive year. Potentially $18,000.00 if all sections were sold, and $9,000.00 after that. MYTH could recoup the cost of the boards, but would have a potential revenue source.
Labor Day Tournament: There are 47 teams registered for the tournament. There are teams in every age division for A & AA, accept Squirt AA. Many of the teams in that division are playing in another tournament the same weekend in Orlando. We will be buying ice at several other rinks in the area to accommodate the schedule, and we will need volunteers at those rinks as well. Tracy Winters is committee chair. Please see her for what is needed for volunteers.
Question was asked about food? The rink snack bar was handling that, but it was agreed that we needed to approach the rink management and snack bar owner to help ensure things were covered.
It was also mentioned that a few area restaurants would be offering discounts to tournament families as well.
Silverstick Tournament: This tournament will be coming up in November the week of
Thanksgiving, but no games will be played that day. Again, we expect a large turnout and will need volunteers for that event. More to come on this after the completion of Labor Day Tournament.
Fall Season: Starts next week. CFHL schedule came out last night (8/9/2013).
A question was asked about teams & players playing AAA? Players on AAA teams and AA team can only play 3 AAA tournaments without jeopardizing their AA status for the state tournament. Please speak to Dave Kessel for clarification.
A question was asked about potential financial issues due to the loss of Mites and players from other teams? We don’t expect financial issues. When the budget is put together it is based on an average number of players on each team. Some of the teams have more, and some have less. The numbers are not too far off what was budgeted.
A question was asked about overcrowding on some teams due to the loss or addition of players.
The rosters are pretty well set and there will not be anyone displaced or ice time diluted in this way. If players come to a team they more than likely be delegated as alternate players.
Motion to Adjourn – Tracy Winters, 2 nd Jane Simon. Meeting was adjourned.
