ANSWER
1. Can a student who has completed the Deakin
Bachelor of Laws* course or has completed an
external Australian accredited Bachelor of Laws
course be admitted directly into the M412 Deakin
Bachelor of Laws (Honours) course?
No. Students must be concurrently enrolled in the
Deakin M312 Bachelor of Laws* and the Deakin M412
Deakin Bachelor of Laws (Honours) course. Students
must satisfy the M412 entry requirements prior to
being offered a place in the M412 course.
2. Can a student, external to Deakin, currently
enrolled in an Australian accredited Bachelor of
Laws course be offered a place and study the
Deakin M412 Bachelor of Laws (Honours) course
whilst continuing to study their external Bachelor
of Laws course?
No. Students must be enrolled in the Deakin M312
Bachelor of Laws* and satisfy M412 entry requirements
prior to being offered a place in the Deakin M412
Bachelor of Laws (Honours) course.
3. The Deakin M412 Bachelor of Laws (Honours)
course commenced in 2015. Can a current Deakin
M312 Bachelor of Laws* student who
commenced their course prior to 2015 and has
not yet completed M312, enter the M412
Bachelor of Laws (Honours) course?
Yes. Deakin students who commenced their course
prior to 2015 and have not yet completed M312* and
meet the M412 Bachelor of Laws (Honours) entry
requirements, can be offered a place in the Deakin
M412 Bachelor of Laws (Honours) course.
Please note: Deakin Students who discontinued (did not
complete) the M312 course more than 10 years ago
must be assessed by the School of Law on a case by
case basis.
4. Can a current Deakin M312 Bachelor of Laws*
International student studying the M312 course
in Australia (as a campus mode student) enter
the M412 Bachelor of Laws (Honours) course and
continue studying in Australia?
No. The Deakin M412 Bachelor of Laws (Honours)
course is only available to domestic students and cloud
(online) international students as M412 units are only
offered in cloud (online) mode. International students
can study M412 only if they do so overseas as cloud
(online) students.

7. What happens if a student successfully
maintains a WAM of 65 in M312 Bachelor of
Laws, but fails one or more units in M412
Bachelor of Laws (Honours)?
The student can either repeat the failed unit(s) or
choose to graduate with M312 Bachelor of Laws*,
provided they satisfy the M312* course rules.
8. How long will it take to complete M312
Bachelor of Laws and M412 Bachelor of Laws
(Honours)?
As students will be enrolled concurrently in M312
Bachelor of Laws and M412 Bachelor of Laws
(Honours), the normal completion time for the M312
and M412 awards is 4.5 years.
The normal completion time for students in a combined
Law degree and M412 is 5.5 years.
NB: Students who also study M312 units offered in
Trimester 3 may shorten the normal completion time.
9. Are Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP)
available to students enrolled in M412?
