Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools After School Enrichment Program Academic Cultural Enrichment 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program (ACE-21st CCLC) What: ACE-21st Century Community Learning Centers is a federal grant program issued by the state whose purpose is to establish or expand community learning centers that provide students with academic enrichment opportunities along with activities designed to complement the students’ regular academic program during after school hours. There are currently four 21st CCLCs being operated in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools: Druid Hills, J. H. Gunn Elementary and West Charlotte High School. For: This program is available to students by invitation only who 1) are below grade level as defined by the North Carolina End of Grade tests or the K-2 assessment tests, 2) attend the schools where the program is offered, and 3) are not eligible for subsidies from CCRI. Cost: There are no fees for this program.
