MAY - WHAT’S ON?
CAPTAINS CORNER
The ‘Medal Season’ had a somewhat inauspicious beginning weather wise on
Monday 7th, however, Ann Mee and Liz Andrews braved the elements, well done
Ann for winning the first medal competition of the season and well done both for
giving it a go. The second Medal on Sunday 13th produced a larger field,
congratulations to Jackie Oliver for winning on the day and being the overall April
Medal winner. There will also be the two Bank Holiday Open competitions in May
so why not give them a whirl.
The Senior Ladies V Truro has been postponed so watch for the rearranged date
later in the year.
The Friendship Cup match, played at Killiow this year, was a most enjoyable day
we failed to win back the Cup but will have every opportunity to do so next year
when the match will be at Porthpean.
We found the second match in the Mail on Sunday competition somewhat more
testing than the first with Truro winning .This will however take some pressure off
the fixtures diary!

Our excursion to Newquay on Thursday 17 in our first League match of the season
was an experience for those of us who did not know the Club or the course. It was a
most enjoyable day, well done Julie for winning her match and Brenda for halving
hers.
The team put up an excellent showing at China Fleet; although we lost it was a
close run match, Brenda and Ann Mee each getting a point and Julie a ½, l
understand the other matches were tightly run. Well done all, it’s getting better all
the time!
We have Ladies Open Day on Wednesday June 4th items for the Tombola and
Raffle would be much appreciated – let’s make it a good one.
There are just a few changes to the Diary to note. The friendly match against
Trethorne has been rearranged for Sunday October 26th (@ home) rather than
Sunday Sept 28th and the friendly match against Trevose on Wednesday October 8th
has been cancelled.
