Large numbers of patients are now being identified in primary care and specialty settings due to the increased use of CT scanning in the evaluation of respiratory symptoms and also due to the heightened awareness of this disease. Over the past several years, important advances have occurred in the understanding of disease pathogenesis, clinical features, and the role of diagnostic testing and therapeutics. The goal of this educational activity is to close the gap in knowledge by disseminating this new information to practitioners who care for these patients. Pulmonary experts from the University of Pittsburgh Simmons Center for Interstitial Lung Disease, Geisinger Health System, Penn State/Hershey Medical Center, University of Pennsylvania and Temple Lung Center will present timely information, new research findings and the best medical advice available to assist you in the care and treatment of patients with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) Faculty for this activity are required to disclose all relevant financial relationships with any proprietary entity producing, marketing, re-selling, or distributing health care goods or services, used on, or consumed by, patients.
