2015-2016 PARENT GUIDE BOOK Interlake Football Parents All Varsity and JVC team parents are part of the Interlake Football Parent Organization (FPO). The purpose of our organization is to support the players and coaches. As members of the FPO, we meet regularly to discuss the needs of the football team and how we can raise funds to support their program. The FPO meets once a month. All are invited and encouraged to attend. There are no FPO membership fees, but at the minimum, we ask that each family helps out in at least 3 events, or if you cannot help in any event, that you make a financial contribution to the program. The Interlake Saints Football Program is overseen by and runs through the Interlake High School Booster Club. We encourage all FPO members to join the Interlake High School Athletic Booster Club. Please note that JVC-Team players and parents are always included with Varsity team events, meetings, dinners, etc. unless they are directed otherwise. Mission Statement The Interlake Football Parent Organization (FPO) shall support and enhance the football related activities that fall under the direction of the Athletic Department at Interlake High School, by striving to elevate school spirit, provide financial assistance, and encourage the cooperative support of the school community. The primary function of Interlake FPO is to develop fundraising opportunities and orchestrate the implementation of those opportunities for the football program at Interlake High School, including scholarship assistance for football athletes in need. Program Policies: Communication Chain of Command: We ask that if any questions or concerns should arise, parents and players contact the proper chain of command in order to have the situation resolved in a timely manner. It is important that we teach our student athletes to take responsibility in their relationships in life, and to develop a mature way of working with others during a conflict. If the issue is with a position coach, then we ask student athletes with their parents to find time with that coach to work through the issues. If the problem cannot be corrected by the first level of the chain, then contacting the next individual on the list would be the next appropriate step. If the problem is still not resolved, then a meeting with all parties is the next step. • Players – are encouraged to contact their head coach or the program’s Head Football Coach • Parents – are encouraged to contact either the FPO President or the Head Football Coach If the problem cannot be resolved within the program, the next step would be the Athletic Director, and the final chain of contact would be the Interlake Administration. Email Code of Ethics: Throughout the year there will be many emails coming from your Team Parent Reps. Since there are so many emails being generated, we try to keep communication coming from 1 person per team (either Varsity Parent Rep or JVC-Team Parent rep). For the courtesy of others, we ask that parents refrain from responding to emails in a “reply all” manner. Please direct emails to the appropriate responsible person involved to eliminate additional emails being sent. Also, if you want to send an email to all team families, please do so through your team Parent Rep. They will gladly work with you to make sure your message gets sent.
