Exploring the Still Life

simplification, and how to create
texture. We’ll be using a variety of
materials such as sand, joint
compound, tissue paper, fabric,
texture paste, sponges, and rollers
to prepare textured canvases on
the first day. From there, we will
all have fun building paintings on
our varied surfaces. Beginners

Follow the Leader
Landscape

This workshop is a “bridge”
between fundamental and
intermediate classes. Kelley and
Allison will walk each student, stepby-step, through the process of
building a successful landscape
painting. Topics covered will include
composition, value, color mixing,
interesting brush work, and at least
two different painting starts. You
will complete two landscape
paintings during this workshop.

Color Theory With Andy

Here, painting is a three-legged
table with one of those legs being
texture, one being detail, and the
final being color. You will learn to
diminish detail and texture and
force the color “leg” to support
more weight. We want to make a
place for everybody at our table
and invite you to join Andy and
