Job Occupational Summary
Description
Antimicrobial Stewardship (Community Network) Clinical Pharmacist is a resource dedicated to enhancing the quality of medication use through antimicrobial stewardship. This individual will work collaboratively with clinical pharmacists, medical staff, and other healthcare workers at participating Antibiotic Stewardship
Community Network hospitals under the direction of the Medical
Directors of the Duke Antimicrobial Stewardship Outreach Network
(DASON, http://dason.medicine.duke.edu/home ).
Work Performed
Promote, advise, and guide the development of successful local antimicrobial stewardship programs at participating Network hospitals. Assist local staff in program assessments, antimicrobial utilization reviews, developing program structures and interventions, and identifying opportunities to optimize antimicrobial use.
Minimum
Qualificatio ns
Participate in the development, education, and communication of infectious disease-related protocols to improve antibiotic decisionsupport for Antibiotic Stewardship Community Network clinicians relating the selection, dose, duration, and monitoring of antimicrobials.
Participate in the preparation of reports intended to document the impact of stewardship programs on quality, safety, and cost of antimicrobial use.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Education
Doctor of Pharmacy Degree
OR
BS Pharmacy Degree
North Carolina Pharmacist License required
Experience
Two years of clinical experience and/or completion of a PGY1 residency and PGY2 residency in infectious disease are desired. In lieu of a PGY2 residency in infectious diseases, completion of an
Antimicrobial Stewardship Certification Program is also desirable.
Candidates with experience as a member and leader of Antimicrobial
Stewardship Programs are preferred.
