father
From the point-of-view of
Hermia, write a “Dear
Aphrodite” letter (think of “Dear
Abbey”) asking for advice about
what to do about your conflict
with your father, Egeus
What is Hermia feeling? What
would Aphrodite advise?
Role-You are a newspaper
reporter
Audience-the people of Athens
Format-A news article
Topic-The young people have
run away from Athens
Imagine that you are a journalist
that is writing a news story about
the young lovers and their bold
actions. Be sure to get all of the

important people like Theseus
Form a group of 4 and create a
modern paraphrased adaptation
of one of the scenes from the
play. Each person should speak
the equivalent of about 20 lines.

must include as many
physical attributes and
personality traits as you
can, along with quotes and
written discussions to
support your visual
character sketch.
Imagine that you are a TV news
reporter in Athens. Choose one
major event in the play on
which to report (i.e. Titania
reuses to hand over young

with an ass; group wedding

Oberon and Titania do not
always agree, especially about
the topic of what to do with the
young Indian prince. Imagine
that these two decide to appear
on a TV show such as Dr. Phil to
work out their problems. What
would they say to one another?
What would the ancient Greek
Dr. Phil advise?
Create a Venn diagram
collage that illustrates the
difference between
Elizabethan ideas of
marriage and family life
and our modern ideas of
marriage and family life.
Be sure to include quotes
from the play AND a

images and why they are
well-chosen.
