FOCUS GROUPS ON DRAFT REQUEST FOR STANDING OFFER
NOVEMBER 30 TO DECEMBER 4, 2015
As part of the development of a new tool for procuring conference
interpretation services and parliamentary interpretation services in
official languages for the Translation Bureau
Introduction
As indicated in Request for Information EN930-151094/D, the Acquisitions Branch (AB) of Public Works
and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) and the Translation Bureau (the Bureau) intend to create
focus groups to gather comments and suggestions from the industry regarding the draft Request for
Standing Offer (RFSO) and response forms.
Meetings with the industry
The AB and the Bureau are organizing a series of focus group meetings for representatives of Canada’s
official languages interpretation industry.
Those who would like to attend one of the meetings can do so in person or via videoconference from one
of the designated buildings across Canada.
Participation is voluntary. Canada will not cover any costs or expenses incurred by participants attending
the meetings.
Not participating in the meetings will not preclude any potential supplier from participating in any other
consultative processes or future solicitations.
Participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis and in accordance with the principle of
representativeness. Only one representative per firm, university or professional association may
participate. Those selected may attend only one meeting. Canada reserves the right to determine the
composition of the groups and to cancel one or more meetings.
1
Meetings will be held in both official languages. All participants, including the moderator and Government
of Canada representatives, are free to express themselves in the language of their choice. Therefore,
proficiency in both official languages is essential.
Discussions will focus on the contents of the draft RFSO. The comments and suggestions received from
the participants during the meetings may be used to develop the final RFSO document.
The comments and suggestions made by participants during the meetings may be subject to a
comprehensive review by Canada.
Canada reserves the right to consider all or part of the comments and suggestions made by the
participants.
Canada will not disclose proprietary or commercially sensitive information to other participants or to third
parties, except and only to the extent required by law.
