There is a resolution that was written by students from the Milwaukee Campus, to have
one hour per week as an hour free of scheduled classes at all four campuses. Faculty,
staff and students have difficulty attending events on campus and/or scheduling meeting
times, therefore, students, faculty and staff will benefit from this Activity Hour for
meetings and/or events.
o Alisha motion to approve the Resolution for Activity Hour, Angela seconded, and
the motion carried.
Mother’s Day and Graduation greeting cards are going well. We are $200 away from our
goal! Keep on going out to the hallways and get more people to give donations!
Senior Center will be again sometime this month in May possibly on the 14th at 1:30
p.m. - 3:30.
The semester is almost over! Be sure to have your classes and financial aid ready for the

Ben and Jarvis attended a Diversity Conference (National Student Leadership Diversity
Convention) in Chicago. They attended various workshops such as; The Cultural
Biography, Coming Out Stars, Communicating & Conducting Difficult Conversations
Around Diversity, Exploring Gender on Campus, Effective Conflict Resolution Skills for
Diverse Leaders and lastly Micro-aggressions & The Power of Words. In the last
workshop they attended Ben mentioned about an activity they did. They wrote down one
word or phrase that they wanted to eliminate from the vocabulary, both Ben and Jarvis
thought it was an excellent activity because everyone responded different to this activity.
There was also a keynote speaker named Dr. Mykee Fowlin, who assembled an exciting
program on the issues of race, discrimination, violence prevention and personal identity.
Officer Elections will be held at the next meeting, everyone take a look at the description
and if it’s something you want to run for the next coming school year, “Go for it!”
