SS SLO FUN Minutes

Present: Derrick Wydick, Sherri Goldberg, Diane Belair, Kim Beyrer, Maria Regalado
1. Maria – SLOAC is a non-standing committee under Academic Senate with a mission to
support SLO assessment and reporting across campus. They are also working to create an
online system which will map SLO’s to GELO’s, Prolo’s, etc. Pilot of system will hopefully
be available in the fall. The committee has (or is still looking for) representation from all
constituencies. MB has been asked to make the group a standing committee. Committee will
meet on 2nd and 4th Thursdays in the Fall. Kim Beyrer will be a member in the Fall and will
liaison between the groups.
2. Discussion:
 How do we present SLO’s to students without them knowing it? It seems there is so
much surveying and data gathering, that students may be getting fatigued.
 Where can one find SLO’s from Student Services and can we put them on a website?
 We should create a spreadsheet/grid with specific questions we will ask departments
about their SLO activities.
 We should divide the SS departments between us.
o Kim – SLD, EOPS, CAC, Umoja, Puente, Men of Color
o Derrick – DSPS, Workability, RISE, CW
o Diane – Counseling area, PALS
o Sherri – Assess, FA, A&R, (Orientation, Senior Saturday, etc)
3. Kim will create a draft grid in Google docs and train everyone how to use it at our next
meeting.
