Dear Parents and Guardians:
Let me take the opportunity to welcome you to Alma Schrader! The faculty and staff of Alma
Schrader sincerely strive to work with the families of our school so that the students feel a unity
between home and school.
To assist you and your son(s) and/or daughter(s) with becoming familiar with the facility of
Alma Schrader and with the routines and traditions of Alma Schrader, we are offering a New
Family orientation opportunity to you and your child(ren). If you attended the in-day
kindergarten orientation back in May, then you need not attend this orientation as we
will be covering the same information. However, if you did not have the opportunity to
attend this orientation, or if your child is a new first, second, third, or fourth grader, I believe
you will find this orientation extremely helpful.
New Family Orientation Night will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, in the Cafeteria of
Alma Schrader beginning at 6:30 pm. At this meeting, you and your child(ren) will have the
opportunity to tour Alma Schrader together and locate not only your child(ren)’s classroom but
other rooms to which your child(ren) might need to come during the course of the school day.
We will also be discussing aspects of the daily routine such as pick-up and drop-off and the
cafeteria so that you and your child will feel comfortable from the very FIRST day of school.
Teachers, however, will not be at this orientation.
There will be separate classroom orientations held on August 10 (see enclosed letter) that we
would also encourage parents/guardians to attend so you and your child may meet your
child(ren)’s teacher(s). However, New Family Orientation Night is designed specifically to
answer the questions of NEW families so that you and your child will soon feel as if you have
been a part of the Schrader family forever.
