MWWA MEETING & EDUCATION SEMINAR Lab Instrumentation Training Course ID # MWWA 13-005 MWWA has found the need to inform water industries professionals on the topic of Lab Instrumentation training. This course will define the basic definitions of lab instrumentation. A review of basic theories of each instrument including Colorimetric methods based on Beer-Lambert Law, Light Scatter Methods and Electro-chemical Methods (i.e.,Probes). Attention will focus on proper operation and common mistakes. Discussion on data management and reporting will be covered. A breakout session will include demonstration and where possible hands on calibration of instruments, common errors and trouble shooting. A tour of the Walter J. Sullivan Treatment Plant will be included. Course objectives: Basic theory for each basic instrument Proper calibration and operation of instrument How to manage data Reporting to MassDEP Students are expected to attend the entire class period, and to actively participate in problem solving exercises.
