Not all students learn the same way, so instruction, assessment, and the entire classroom experience must vary in order to provide proper learning opportunities for all students. In addition to student learning styles, student development must be considered in the classroom. As students grow and develop, their experiences, thinking styles, and reflection on the world all change. Great teachers consider when constructing an overall classroom experience. Your table should include the following: Multiple Intelligence Brief Description Roles/Jobs for someone with this intelligence type Activities/Assessments Learning Cues (things that students with this learning style best learn with) Fill out the table with the appropriate multiple intelligences in the far left column. Print this and attach it to this 1 st quarter sheet. Multiple Intelligences Test- Go to my teacher webpage on high school website. Click Cadet Teaching and select the Multiple Intelligences Test. Take the test, Excel will keep a running total for you. At the end of the test you will be able to see which multiple intelligence best represents you. Print this Excel spreadsheet and attach it to this 1st Quarter sheet. When finished, open Word, create an appropriate heading (student name, teacher name, class, date), and write a three-paragraph reflection. First paragraph, reflect on your teaching experience. What you like, don’t like? What are you learning? Want to learn? Second paragraph, reflect on the student development article. What did you learn from it? Compare it to your current teaching experiences. Where are your students at in terms of development? Last paragraph, write about multiple intelligences. Was the test accurate for you? How and how not? Compare it to your current teaching experiences. What multiple intelligences are present in your classroom, be specific? One Special Education Classroom Observation- Go to my teacher webpage on the high school website. Click Cadet Teaching and select observation form. For the first quarter, each student will need to observe one period with a special education teacher and complete the form. Make sure to talk to your current mentor teacher about when you are observing. Also, make sure to contact a special education teacher in advance to set up an observation, do not wait until the end of the quarter to get this done. Attend and participate in the Cadet Teacher Workshops. The dates are as follows: o Cadet Teaching Period 1, 2, 4 – August 25, September 22 o Cadet Teaching Period 5, 6, 7- August 27, September 24 Each workshop will be during Eagle Time and the location is yet to be determine, listen for announcements. Mentor Teacher Evaluation- Each quarter, the mentor teacher will evaluate the cadet teacher based on a variety of classroom skills. Grading Checklist: 15% of Quarter Grade: o Weekly Journal logs submitted each week by 3 p.m. on Monday 25% of Quarter 1 Grade: o Multiple Intelligences Table- all intelligences listed, with appropriate description, roles, activities/assessments, and learning cues. Printed and attached to this form._____/40 points o Quarter One Paper- Completed Multiple Intelligences test (20 points) is printed and attached. Quarter one reflection paper(30 points). Proper grammar and punctuation throughout. Reflection paper highlights classroom experiences, student development, and multiple intelligences. __________/50 points. 10% of Quarter 1 Grade: o Special Education Classroom Observation- Form is signed, descriptive, and questions at the end are completed. Answers to questions at end are in complete sentences and display good grammar. __________/25 points 10% of Quarter 1 Grade: o Attendance and participation at 2 eagle time workshops. _________/20 points Please turn in this form, with your name at the top and the appropriate documents attached by October 9.
