TERMS OF REFERENCE (TORs) OVERVIEW TITLE Analysis and Visualization Consultant - Global Risks and Opportunities Animation and Report LOCATION OF ASSIGNMENT Remote-based LANGUAGE(S) REQUIRED English TRAVEL None Required DURATION OF CONTRACT 27 Days – 16 November 2015 through 15 January 2016 BACKGROUND & RATIONALE UNICEF Policy Planning Unit (PPU) is conducting a Global Risks and Opportunities Survey with UNICEF staff to obtain a child-centered perspective on global risks and opportunities within a 15-year time horizon. The survey gathers valuable perception-based intelligence, building on UNICEF’s extensive expertise and field presence. The results of the Survey will inform UNICEF’s strategic planning, policies and programmes in an increasingly complex and fast-changing world. PURPOSE The purpose of this consultancy will be to analyse the results of the survey, produce a 3-minute infographic animation and a short companion report. This will include analysing the findings together with PPU and presenting them in a visually appealing manner; and using graphical images to combine various trends and demonstrate new and compelling perspectives. It will also include designing the cover image of the report, to graphically and creatively capture the essence of the topics discussed in the report. A high degree of creativity and artistic ability is required for this consultancy. EXPECTED RESULTS: (MEASURABLE RESULTS) 3-minute infographic animation capturing key results of the survey Fully designed and laid out Global Risks and Opportunities for Children report in web and high quality print pdf format. The document will be maximum 16 pages in length, including front and back cover images. It will include approximately 25-30 graphical images. Each page will have at least one graphical image. Fully produced 3-minute animation 8 days Authors Adjustments (AAs), including edits and modifications 3 days 9 December 18 December 15 January 27 days TOTAL KEY COMPETENCES, TECHNICAL BACKGROUND, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED DEADLINE Superior analytical, graphic design and animation skills. Advanced qualifications in animation, graphic and infographics design.
