A Call For Your Help and Stories Continued
Just In
The SAHS is proud to announce that we have received federal
funding from Canadian Heritage to produce a documentary on the
British Commonwealth Air Training Program in Saskatchewan. In
the next few months, we will be travelling around the province
interviewing individuals and documenting information about the
bases that existed in the province. If you have any photos or
stories you would like to share, contact us at info@skahs.com.

A Call For Your Help and Stories
Hello! My name is Deana Driver and I am an author, editor, and
publisher in Regina, Saskatchewan. My husband Al and I operate a
book publishing company out of our home-based office and we
have had great success in sharing stories of Prairie people. We are
requesting that you share the information below with pilots,
former pilots, flying field workers, and others who may wish to tell
some interesting stories about pilot adventures, mishaps, success
stories, etc. We plan to publish the best of these stories next
spring in our book tentatively titled Stories of Prairie Pilots.
Here is the information we request that you share:
Tell Us Your Stories of Your Prairie Pilot Adventures. The
successful launch of our Cream Money book and the talk in the
community that this book has already inspired among Prairie
people who have read the book have encouraged us to
produce more anthologies of this type. DriverWorks Ink is
pleased to invite you to share more of your short stories (or
poems) for two new, non-fiction books that we would like to
publish in 2016: Stories of Prairie Pilots (working title) – a
collection of short stories about events that have occurred to
pilots while flying on the Prairies. This book has been inspired
by all the tales we have heard over the years while marketing
our popular book Prairie Pilot: Lady Luck Was On Our Side, by
Walter D. Williams. We know there are some incredible stories
of danger, heroism, helping, joy, adventure, silliness, and more
out there. We want to record and share these stories with our
readers. Please write your story or invite someone you know
to share their story with us. Stories should be from 500 words
to 1,500 words. Photos may be submitted upon acceptance of
your story. Please provide details including your name,
address, phone number, and email address, as well as the
names, dates, location, and other details of the people and
places in your story.
Please send your submissions before Dec. 31, 2015 by email to:
ddriver@sasktel.net or by mail to: DriverWorks Ink, 110
McCarthy Blvd. N., Regina, SK S4R 6A4.
Please phone DriverWorks Ink at 306-545-5293 if you have a
story to share but you do not wish to write it yourself. Deana
Driver will be happy to write it and help you share your story in
that way.
All submissions will be accepted but not all submissions will be
published. Those whose stories are published will receive two
complimentary copies of the book and will be able to purchase
more copies at a 40% discount. Thank you in advance. We look
forward to receiving your stories.
