Dermal Fillers Pre-Treatment Instructions
A few simple guidelines before your treatment can make a difference between a
good result and a fantastic one.

If you have a history of Herpes (cold sores) you must be treated 2 days
prior and 3 days after treatment with Valtrex 500mg BID (twice a day) or
Acyclovir 400mg TID (three times a day), when the dermal filler injections
are around or on the mouth.

If you develop a cold sore, blemish, rash, or are sick, etc. prior to your
appointment please call us as soon as possible to reschedule.

If you have a special event or vacation coming up, schedule your
treatment at least 2 weeks in advance of this event.

Avoid Aspirin, Motrin, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin
A, Vitamin E, or any other essential fatty acids such as Omega fish oils at
least 3 days to 1 week before and after treatment. Please consult your
doctor first if you take any of these agents as a medical necessity.

Avoid alcohol, caffeine, Niacin supplements, high-sodium foods, spicy
foods, and cigarettes 24-48 hours before and after your treatment.

Discontinue Retin-A or any other acids such as glycolic or lytic acids two
(2) days before and two (2) days after treatment.

Take Arnica pills, strength #6, #12 or #30 as directed starting two (2)
days before procedure. Continue using pills after procedure until bruising
and swelling are gone.
