Partner Search: Applications of Alternative Materials to Transport Means The subject of the proposal for co-operation are applications of alternative materials in various road and rail vehicles (buses, trolleybuses, battery buses, trams, metros, cars, lorries, trucks, cabs of special transport means). The alternative materials of interest can be fibre composites, hybrid (sandwich) structures, high-strength steels and aluminium alloys. The designs and the computational models of components, joints and structural parts will be verified by experiments. Deadlines : no specification Project The subject of the proposal for co-operation are applications of alternative materials in various road and rail vehicles (buses, trolleybuses, battery buses, trams, metros, cars, lorries, trucks, cabs of special transport means). The alternative materials of interest can be fibre composites, hybrid (sandwich) structures, high-strength steels and aluminium alloys. The designs and the computational models of components, joints and structural parts will be verified by experiments. The computer simulations with experimental support can provide new findings and direction for designing and sizing technical equipment with application of alternative materials. The use of these materials and their joints can contribute to greater safety and to reduced weights of the systems. The demand for use of alternative materials in structures is highly up-to-date due to the need for energy savings in operation of machines and is in line with current trends in engineering structures.
