She currently takes metformin 500mg bd.
She complains of numb feet.
What is your management plan?
Why does she have numb feet?
c) You saw a 35 yrs gentleman last week and diagnosed him
with type 2 diabetes.
He started metformin 500mg bd
He now presents with aching muscles

d) A 19 year old male presents with weight loss, polyuria and
polydipsia.

e) A 20 year old male with known diabetes presents feeling ill,
he has had burning urine for the past day.
You note he is sweating and looks very unwell.
What is the likely diagnosis?
How will you treat him?
f) A 55 year old lady with known type 2 diabetes presents with
difficulty seeing, her FBS is 120 mg/dl.
She takes metformin 1g tds, and glibenclamide 10mg od.
BP 120/80.
What is the cause of her symptoms and how do we treat it?
g) A 26 year old known diabetic arrives in clinic, he is well and
you find no problems.
He is concerned as a relative has recently lost a foot to
diabetes, he is concerned this may happen to him and asks
what can he do to prevent this?

well.
BP is 150/89, his urine shows protein + otherwise normal.
He currently takes metformin only.
What is your management plan?
i) A 25 year old man arrives with low GCS 8/15. FBS is 45

You have no past medical history and there is no guardian

j) a young man has been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
Your boss has asked you to prescribe insulin.
He weighs 60 kg
How much insulin will you give him?
