Research Proposal – up to 1700 words

Please attach an up to date research proposal. Your research proposal should include:

Preparedness for study (400 words) [An account of how your previous study and/or professional

experience and/or development has prepared you for the doctorial project].

an indication of the primary discipline(s) of the PhD research project

a straightforward, descriptive, and informative title for their proposed PhD project

a research question and overall aim of the project (100 words)

research context, methods and sources (500 words) [An assessment of how your research will engage with recent study in the subject – the context of your project; any interdisciplinary considerations; why you are the right person to undertake this research; an account of the methodology and approach you will take; a discussion of the texts, documents, objects, behaviours, experiments or practices your

research will draw upon; why the host HEI is the most relevant to your research aims.]

research impact (300 words) [An account of why your research question is important and worth investigating; what impact might your research have for other people outside of Higher Education; what are the implications of your research?; how you would expect to disseminate your ideas (in addition to

completing your final thesis)]

Training needs assessment (300 words) [any additional training needs required for the research project]

Fieldwork (100 words) [please set out any fieldwork that is necessary for the completion of the project]
