DOME
GEOMETRY
In accordance with ADA Regulations for Tactile Warning Surfaces: The
truncated domes shall have a base diameter of 23 mm (0.9”) min. and 36 mm
(1.4”) max., a top diameter of 50% of the base diameter min and 65% of the
base diameter max, a height of 5 mm (0.2”), a center to center spacing of 41
mm (1.6”) min. and 61 mm (2.4”) max, and a base to base spacing of 17 mm
(0.65”) min. measured between the most adjacent domes.
ADA’s TWS Products: Base Diameter = 23 mm (0.9”), Top Diameter 11.5
mm (0.45”) Height = 5 mm (0.2”), Spacing = 60 mm (2.35”)

DIMENSIONS
Available Sizes: 24”x36” (61.0cm x 91.4cm), 24”x48” (61.0cm x 121.9cm),
24”x60” (61cm x 152.4cm), 36”x48” (91.4cm x 121.9cm), and 36”x60”
(91.4cm x 152.4cm). TWS Units may be modified to accommodate specific
project requirements. TWS Units feature 0.25”(6.3mm) body thickness and a
3/4” thick x 1” wide (19.1mm x 25.4mm) perimeter flange with air vents.
MATERIAL
A homogenous glass and carbon reinforced composite of uniform color
throughout which is colorfast and UV stable. Truncated domes are fiberglass
reinforced for enhanced durability. TWS Unit Weight: 2.1 #/SF ( min.).
Standard Colors: Federal Yellow, Seattle Yellow, Brick Red, Clay Red,
Safety Red, Gray, Black, and Blue.
INSTALLATION
TWS Units are wet set into a min. 2 ½” (63.5 mm) depth of concrete (4”-7”
slump). With ½”x 1 ½” SS diameter bolts (covered by water resistant caps)
and corrosion resistant inserts attached, the TWS Unit is pressed into place in
the wet concrete. The TWS Units may be replaced by removing the bolts and
inserting a new interchangeable TWS Unit into the existing recess. The
original inserts remain in place. The TWS Unit is replaced in 3-5 minutes.
