MA Submission Guidelines for HAHP Assessments Date, Time and Place of Submission This will be on your assessment timetable on your timetable tab on Sussex Direct – please make sure you check this regularly. Submission times are final – at the time of the submission deadline the School Office will close for ten minutes. Any students who submit after the office reopens will be considered late. Late Submissions and Penalties What happens if you miss an assessment deadline? Should you miss an assessment submission deadline (for whatever reason) you may still submit the assessment after the published deadline. This will incur a penalty, as follows: Work submitted up to 24 hours late shall incur a penalty deduction of 5 percentage points (not 5% of the actual mark). Work submitted after 24 hours and up to 7 days late shall incur a penalty deduction of 10 percentage points ( not 10% of the actual mark) No work shall be accepted after the 7 day penalty period has elapsed If you there is a reason for you handing your work in late or being unable to submit it all, please contact the Student Life Centre: http://www.sussex.ac.uk/studentlifecentre/ Preparing an Assessment for Submission - Term Papers You MUST submit TWO copies of your term paper. Number the pages. Do not write your name anywhere on the term paper. Please include your candidate number on the top of every page. Cover sheets will be provided at the School Office – these will be stapled onto the papers. DO NOT GET YOUR TERM PAPER BOUND. Preparing an Assessment for Submission – Group Projects, Reflective Essays and Research Plans Group projects, reflective essays and research plans must be submitted as individual pieces of assessment. You MUST submit TWO copies each of your group project, reflective essay and research plan. Number the pages. Do not write your name anywhere on the group project, reflective essay and research plan. Please include your candidate number on the top of every page. Cover sheets will be provided at the School Office – these will be stapled onto the papers. DO NOTE GET YOUR GROUP PROJECT, REFLECTIVE ESSAY OR RESEARCH PLAN BOUND. Preparing an Assessment for Submission - Dissertations You MUST submit THREE copies of your dissertation. Number the pages. Do not write your name anywhere on the dissertation. Please include your candidate number on the top of every page. Cover sheets will be provided at the School Office – you will hole punch your dissertation and attach these covers with treasury tags. DO NOT GET YOUR DISSERTATION BOUND. Preparing an Assessment for Submission – Learning Journal You have the option of handing in the Learning Journal element of your assessment as a traditional word document OR as a scrapbook style journal. If you hand in a traditional word document you MUST submit THREE copies of your learning journal. If you are handing in a scrapbook you may hand in only ONE copy, but please bear in mind we may not be able to return this for some time. Number the pages. Do not write your name anywhere on the learning journal. Please include your candidate number on the top of every page. Cover sheets will be provided at the School Office. If your learning diary is in traditional word document format you MUST NOT have it bound. If your learning diary is in scrap book form you may have it bound if you wish but it is NOT required.
