Introduction:
This course is designed to prepare students in the field of small animal management. It
will provide students the skills regarding career opportunities, entry requirements, and
industry expectations in veterinary and other careers related to small animals. Students
will develop knowledge and skills pertaining to animal ownership, industry hazards,
current topics associated with animal rights/welfare, management and career
opportunities. Suggested small animals which may be included in the course of study
include, but are not limited to small mammals, amphibians, reptiles, avian, dogs and
cats.

Record Books:
The Texas Educational Agency requires that students taking Agricultural
Science class maintain a record book. Every student in the class will have an
electronic record book assigned to them. You will be given time in class to work
on them.

Cell Phone:
 THERE WILL BE NO CELL PHONES OUT IN CLASS. IF CAUGHT YOU WILL
the phone will be taken to the office and a $15 fine.
Tardy Bell:
 You must be in Mr. Gerhardt’s room when the bell rings or else you will be
marked tardy.
Make-up Work:
 It is the student’s responsibility to get their make-up work from Mr.
Gerhardt and complete the assignment to turn in.
Late Policy:
 Students will receive a 10 point deduction on an assignment if turned in
late. They will have 3 days to turn in the assignment or it will be a 0.
