CLASS TITLE: CRIME INTELLIGENCE ANALYST SUPERVISOR - SES
ALLOCATION FACTOR(S)
This is work supervising the research, analysis and transmittal of intelligence and investigative
information. The primary duty of the employee(s) in the position(s) allocated to this class is to spend a
major portion of the time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees,
planning and directing their work; and having the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall,
promote, discharge, assign, reward or discipline subordinate employees or to effectively recommend
such actions.

Motivates employees to improve the quality and quantity of work performed.
Plans work loads, work flows, deadlines, work objectives and time utilization with employees.
Evaluates employees through establishing evaluation criteria and responsibilities and meeting
regularly with employees to ensure the established criteria are met.
Trains employees in methods for performing an effective and efficient job.
Communicates on a regular basis with employees both individually and in staff meetings.
Directs the work of employees to ensure best use of time and resources.
Supervises requests for and receipt of information of a confidential nature; coordinates the
analysis and dissemination of information and intelligence from various agencies, the public,
and other sources; and promotes these sources to maintain the exchange of pertinent
information among law enforcement agencies.
Supervises the development and progress of detailed research relating to organized crime,
terrorism, and professional criminals.
Supervises the coordination of inter-state and intra-state information exchange pertaining to
criminal activity and criminal movement.
Supervises the development of charts and activity maps regarding criminal activity, and the
development of graphs and illustrations depicting the structure and interconnection of
organized criminal groups and associates.

Supervises preparations of oral briefings, written reports, and recommendations in the form of
intelligence assessments, and detailed factual reports used by agency management and field
supervisors to evaluate investigative priorities in case development.
Supervises and provides in-service training to analytical personnel and makes
recommendations concerning such personnel pertaining to their retention, promotion, and
discipline.
Supervises the development of specific recommendations for subsequent and future
investigative action, strategy, and priority, and submission of same to management, field
supervisors, and/or Special Agents.
Supervises the evaluation and analysis of confidential criminal intelligence information to
predict the capabilities, intentions, and vulnerabilities of organized criminal groups and
recommendations for investigative strategies.
Performs related work as required.

Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize criminal intelligence data.
Ability to review large amounts of criminal intelligence data and to determine the significance,
completeness, and usefulness of the data.
Ability to write reports, investigative summaries and memoranda resulting from information
analysis.
Ability to make independent decisions.
Ability to report information clearly, concisely and accurately.
Ability to determine work priorities, assign work and ensure proper completion of work
assignments.
Ability to communicate effectively.
