DAPA Board of Trustees (BOT) Meeting Minutes
Sunday, December 13, 2014, 8:35PM–9:45PM (Holiday Party)
PRESENT: Dr. Ken Drude, Dr. Steve Hall, Dr. Marcy Gunn, Dr. Steve Hamilton, Dr. Kristin
Rodzinka, Dr. Rose Mary Shaw, Dr. Dennis O’Grady, Dr. Niki Blust, Dr. Steve Hamilton, and
Dr. Mawasha Joann Wright
ABSENT: Rebecca Clarke and Terri Pelley
I.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Board approved 11/09/14 minutes.
II.
TREASURER’S REPORT: DR. MARCY GUNN—937-266-8906
a. Current account balance = $2,838.35
III.
WEBSITE: Dr. Nikki Blust—513-313-9412
a. Dr. Blust reports changes were made to the website regarding date/name. Now
will say “upcoming workshop” not by who made the post..
b. Terri Pelley will report next time regarding taking over the Website leadership
role. Barriers to membership is stamp/letter/check format. Terri will also talk to
the OPA internet web coordinator.
c. Board unwilling to consider using a pay center which would cost approximately
$8,000. Terri will check into alternative internet providers and free options.
IV.
PROGRAM CHAIR REPORT, 2014-2015: Workshops: Dr. Steve Hall—937-609-1844
a. CEU WORKSHOP NOVEMBER 21, 2014: Dr. Warfield & Dr. Durmusoglu,
“AUTISM DIAGNOSIS & TREATMENT THROUGHOUT THE LIFESPAN." (Which
Tools Are Readily Used in Today’s Practice) NOVEMBER 21, 2014 hit it out of the
park and was a home run. Champions: Rebecca Clarke & Marcy Gunn.
b. Dr. Kristin Rodzinka’s CEU workshop, Friday, October 17th, on DBT at the Ellis
Human Development Institute was a huge success. Champion: Dr. Steve
Hamilton.

c. Dr. Julie Williams CEU workshop perhaps for Feb/March “Working with People
With Disabilities” will be explored. Needs for special facility requirement will be
investigated. Kristin Rodzinka will phone contact and Dr. Mawasha Joann
Wright will co-coordinate.
d. R/S: “Impact of ACA and Other Issues on Ohio Psychologists” by Michael
Rammey & Bobbi Celeste, will need to be rescheduled for January 23rd, 2015
due to personal illness. Champion: Dr. RM Shaw is workshop coordinator.
e. TBA: May/June 2015, "The Ethics Of Supervising: Supervising Trainees," led by
Michelle Schultz & Regina Shillinglaw. Champion: Dr. RM Shaw
f. TBA: March 2015. Speaker might be Dr. Jack Leesak from Cleveland and past
president of the Association of Sports Psychologists. Or Rebecca Clark sports
psychologist UD basketball team.
V.
COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMITTEE REPORT: Dr. Marcy Gunn--937-266-8906
a. Collected 39 pounds of food for our annual food drive for the Foodbank of
Dayton was accomplished. Community Outreach: Dr. Mawasha Joann Wright
reports WSU is discussing Social Justice Issues and our membership might be
able to facilitate uncomfortable discussions on January 17th, 2015 to discuss
Race & Policing. Other future table topics will cultivate calls to action. Tapping
community service ideas, such as, partnering with NAMI to share speakers and
resources is continuing to be explored. Dr. O’Grady received feedback from Dr.
Greg Ramey at Children’s Medical Service. A new community service board is
looking into a joint venture regarding childhood obesity and sleep deprivation
problems. We will continue to seek feedback in an attempt to be relevant to our
community.
VI.
NEWSLETTER REPORT: Dr. Ken Drude
a. Dr. Drude will send out a special email to membership this month regarding
Engaging Communities In Uncomfortable Dialogues. As usual, the next
newsletter will be timed with our nextworkshop. Name tags for Board members
attending external events and for members to use at CEU workshops was
suggested by Dr. Kristin Rodzinka. Newsletter topic: "How do we remain relevant
to the communities we serve?" was suggested as a topic by Dr. Mawasha Joann

Wright and heartily endorsed.
VII.
OPA Report to DAPA: Dr. R.M. Shaw—937-479-5724
a. Dr. Shaw has no report to give. Dr. Hall reported on rules and procedures for
Resignation/Removal/Replacement of Board Members/Officers. Our current
bylaws have a procedure to handle these unfortunate matters of adversity.
VIII.
SOPP REPORT: REBECCA CLARKE—937-681-1100
a. Rebecca Clarke will report next meeting.
b. MEDICAID REFERRALS: According to Gene Siesky and Mary Ann Drewry at
EHDI, their direct referral number for Medicaid clients seeking
counseling/psychotherapy treatment is #775-4300.
IX.
DAPA SURVEY:
a. Next meeting will discuss a DAPA survey and possible questions. Next meeting
will spearhead marketing ideas.
