Judges
Team will need to abide by the standard procedure of supplying: 1) One judge per five speech
contestants 2) One judge for every 3 PF debate teams 3) One judge for every 3 LD debaters or fraction
thereof is required.
PF and LD judges will have their own separate pools; however, we will use Speech judges for PF rounds
as needed. If you drop contestants on the day of the tournament, judges still must be provided for
those dropped slots. If you have no choice and have to drop a judge will result in a $125.00 hired judge
penalty fee. It is very likely that a very limited number of hired judges will be available. Please make
every effort to bring your own judges and stress to all of them that they must remain for the entire
tournament. All judges must be available to judge the final round of any event.
PLEASE designate any student judges by adding the word “STUDENT” after their name on the judges list.
Hired judges may be commissioned for $85.00 per judge on a first come, first serve basis.
* We will be adding documents to upload for the judges in an attempt to limit the amount of printing
that needs to be done. PLEASE forward this information to each judge and have them print their own
documents. The judge’s packet is in the “uploaded files” section on speechwire. They can also be
emailed to you as well.
Deadline for Judge Requests: Wednesday January 15th, 2013.
* If teams have judges that can be used as “hired judges”, please let me know and we will put them on a
list and pay them.
Registration: We hope to have all registrations by Thursday, January 16th 2014. Please adhere to this
deadline and if there are any special requests contact me using the information below. Registration will
be done online at www.SpeechWire.com. All adds can be made without penalty on the website up until
9 p.m. on Thursday, January 16th. A nuisance fee of $20 will be made for any drops made noon January
17th. Any additional late minute additions the day of the tournament at registration will result in a $25
fee nuisance charge. If we need to provide judges because a judge was dropped that will result a $125
penalty. Registration will begin Saturday at 8:00 a.m. and continue until 8:45 a.m. and we are hoping to
begin Round 1 promptly at 9:30.
