Presentation 2 Write a short skit about meeting a friend on campus. Discuss times and places for classes, studying, eating, playing tennis, or any other activity you enjoy using grammatical structures you have learned in chapter 4, 5 and 6. Work in groups of three (or four if three is not possible). There should be at least two people who do not know each other and need introducing. The way you begin to introduce a person is こちらは~ as in: こちらは わた しの ともだちの ジョンです. Then the two people can do their own quick self-introductions. While it is a bit unnatural, stick to more polite Japanese (pretend you are relatively new friends). The skit should be about one minute long per person involved. You will be graded on naturalness of Japanese, as well as the variety of grammatical expressions you use. Each member of the group will be graded individually. Each student in the group should distribute the work to prepare the draft equally. Humor and good acting, while appreciated, will not be part of the final mark. Covering the expressions we learned after the midterm is more important. You may ask your teachers for advice, but be careful of asking Japanese friends. Do not include a lot of grammar and vocabulary which is unfamiliar to most of the class. First drafts are due on Monday, November 30. Presentations will be digitally filmed on Monday, December 14 so there will be time to memorize. Fall 2015, Queens College, CUNY
