JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Building & Refrigeration Maintenance Manager Job Location: Reports to: Function Area: Utah Olympic Oval Oval General Manager UOO Operations Position Code: 430 Pay Grade: 7 Type: Full Time Exempt Job Title: Building & Refrigeration Maintenance Manager Under direction of the Oval Manager provide support for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Building Maintenance Department. Ensure that the facility is a well-maintained, safe facility for patrons and staff Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Accountability Develop and implement effective Operations Department policies and procedures o With assistance from Oval Manager develop short and long term goals and plans for the department o Prepare, manage and meet annual departmental budget o Develop safety procedures in accordance with local and national regulations o Attend and participate in regular staff meetings Responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient operation of the Utah Olympic Oval Facilities o Oversee facility grounds, remodeling, and building maintenance o Coordinate activities of contractors, suppliers, and vendors o Oversee development of an effective preventative and regular maintenance program o Inspect all equipment and facility areas regularly for proper, safe, and efficient operations o Oversee vendor, contractor, and supplier contracts and assure warranty compliance if needed o Ensure proper operation and function of various security access and maintenance alarm systems such as fire, backup lighting, and ammonia detection systems o Assist in event set up and tear down when necessary o Utilize maintenance software and implement building work order system o Develop emergency preparedness plans and implement upon approval o Attend and participate in local LEPC meetings o Conduct regular safety team meetings to ensure safety policies and procedures are adhered to and areas of improvement are identified o Maintain Hot and Cold Tubs (CPO certified) o Maintain, track and distribute all building keys o Track and supervise ‘Capital Projects’ Supervise Building Operations staff and strive for optimal performance o Provide leadership through effective goal setting, delegation, and communication o Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure that personnel are well informed in policies and procedures and to discuss areas needing improvement o Conduct performance appraisals and implement corrective action when necessary o Supervise, schedule, and train Maintenance employees o Ensure that all Maintenance personnel are current with their certifications Responsible for effective administration of department functions o Maintain accurate department and equipment records o Manage, code and track invoices for accounting o Maintain adequate supplies, tools, and equipment for efficient and safe operations of the facility and maintain an inventory of such tools and equipment o Maintain stock supply (Light bulbs, CO2 extinguishers, Fuel, etc.) o Maintain good communication with all personnel throughout the Oval to determine maintenance needs and priorities o Keep the Oval Manager informed Oval activities and significant problems Assist in Event take down and set up Other duties as assigned Page 1 of 3 11.1.15 Page 2 of 3 JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Building & Refrigeration Maintenance Manager Job Location: Reports to: Function Area: Utah Olympic Oval Oval General Manager UOO Operations Position Code: 430 Pay Grade: 7 Type: Full Time Exempt Job Title: Building & Refrigeration Maintenance Manager Required Knowledge and Essential Skills Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or closely related field – or a combination of education and relevant experience totaling seven years. Four years experience in all facets of refrigeration and building operations at a comparable facility Three years supervisory experience. Thorough knowledge of building construction, maintenance, repairs, refrigeration and air conditioning, and electrical and mechanical systems Familiarity with sources of vendors and suppliers General business management and accounting knowledge including budgeting Refrigerant certified Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities Ability to function as a team player. Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
