Aerospace
Components for the aerospace industry require reliable, precise temperature measurement which
Thermometrics provides through a variety of different sensors. When working in hightemperature industrial environments, we offer thermocouples with protection tubes. Magnesium
Oxide also commonly referred to as MgO thermocouples and general purpose RTDs are
available for direct immersion, composite mixing, forming or other processes.
Aggregate
When working with asphalt and cement mixing and drying applications, Thermometrics
produces temperature sensors, including abrasion-resistant thermocouples. Most sensor
assemblies are constructed with connection heads and protection tubes.
Chemical
The chemical industry incorporates a myriad of specialties, each with their own specific process
requirements. Thermometrics produces temperature sensors that meet these specifications for
almost every application within the industry. Thermometrics has designed and developed many
custom sanitary sensors. Some of these are fast response sensors, which may be critical for
sanitary systems. We also produce a line of sensors that flush-mount with the interior wall of a
storage tank, measuring the temperature of the material without penetrating the inside of the
vessel.
Thermometrics offers a variety of explosion-proof sensor assemblies. Many of our sensors are
available with the protection of a thermowell. In the case that the sensor probe is going to see
harsh environments, such as acid washes, we also manufacture sensors with protection tubes,
made of materials particular for each application. The majority of our sensor assemblies have
the ability to accommodate connection heads and transmitters.
Energy and Power
Thermometrics is the manufacturer of a number of different types of temperature sensors for
various applications in the energy and power industry. Thermometrics has the ability to produce
miniature temperature sensors for wind turbine bearings to durable thermocouples for boiler and
piping systems. Thermometrics has the ability to produce sensors for almost any application
imaginable. Acutely accurate RTD sensors are available for precision applications.
Thermocouples have the ability to monitor engine temperature in construction vehicles and
equipment.
Food and Beverage
Thermometrics is the producer of a number of temperature sensors for the beverage, food, and
dairy industries. The majority of these sensors are sanitary for convenient washing. Some of
these sensors meet the stringent High Temperature, Short Test requirements for pasteurization.
We also produce a line of sensors that have the ability to be flush-mounted with the interior wall
of a storage tank. By doing so, this will allow you to measure the temperature of the material
without penetrating the inside of the vessel.
There are a variety of sensor sizes and clamp, gasket, bevel-seat or adaptor fittings to meet
different applications. Quick response RTDs are available as well as thermowell assemblies.
Transmitters are built into RTD assemblies for specific applications. Penetration style RTDs and
thermocouples are available for use in fresh and frozen meat, fish, poultry, dough and other food
products.
Heat Treating
In the heat treating industry, companies turn to Thermometrics for their temperature sensor
assemblies. Thermometrics offers thermocouples that meet furnace certifications, as well as
Magnesium Oxide (MgO) thermocouples that can be formed to fit almost any application.
Thermocouples with protection tubes are available for insertion in high temperature, industrial
processes.
HVAC
Thermometrics makes temperature sensors for commercial HVAC applications. The majority of
our sensors are available with a transmitter option. Duct areas requiring an average temperature
of multiple points within the system can use our RTD Averaging Sensor.
Incineration
Medium to high temperature sensors for incineration applications are available in a many options
from Thermometrics. The protection tubes on these sensors range from standard service for lowcorrosive environments to Recrystallized Silicon Carbide (RSiC) for highly corrosive
applications.
Medical
Thermometrics produces precise, highly-accurate sensors that are used in the medical industry.
The majority of these assemblies are sanitary sensors that are available with transmitters and
thermowell protection. Besides being precise in temperature measurement, some of the sensors
are designed for fast response times, which is critical in laboratories and environmental
chambers. When working in harsher environments, rugged sensors are also available for use in
the high-temperature stress found in medical autoclaves and sterilization equipment.
Metal Processing
Thermometrics makes a variety of rugged protection tubes and thermocouple assemblies for the
metal processing industry. We produce Magnesium Oxide (MgO) thermocouples for heat
treating applications. Angle thermocouples, or commonly known as "over-the-side" sensors with
protection tubes are also available upon request. Most sensor assemblies for use in this particular
industry are produced with connection heads and protection tubes. Thermometrics
thermocouples are used to measure the process temperature of many metals, including copper,
steel, aluminum, nickel, platinum and others.
Mining
Thermometrics manufactures a variety of thermocouple assemblies that measure temperature in
refining and mineral processing applications. For more rugged applications, specific sensor
assemblies are available with thermowell protection. We also produce thermocouples for use in
engine monitoring in heavy-duty mining vehicles and equipment.
Oil and Gas
Thermometrics offers a number of temperature sensors for the many different processes in the
extraction, production, refining and distribution of oil, gas and other petrochemicals. Among
these, our Teflon -coated assemblies resist corrosion and chemical attack. These sensor
assemblies are built for direct immersion in the process, while other types are constructed with a
thermowell for protection. Heat tracing sensors are available to measure surface temperature of
pipes within systems.

Pharmaceutical

industry. For sanitary applications, we produce a line of pharmaceutical sanitary sensors with
connection heads. Many of these sensors are available with transmitters. We also produce a line
of sensors that can be flush-mounted to the interior wall of a storage tank. This then allows the
sensor to measure the temperature of the material without penetrating the inside of the vessel.
Other sensors are designed for immersion or surface measurement in the injection molding and
packaging side of the industry.
Besides having sanitary assemblies, some sensors have a quick-disconnect plug for easy removal
while maintaining a moisture-resistant seal when connected. For more corrosive environments,
such as incineration or disposal of waste, we manufacture sensors with protection tubes, made of
materials specific for each application.
Plastics
Thermometrics produces temperature sensors for almost any application involving plastic
molding, extrusion and other industry processes. Most of these temperature sensors are built for
direct immersion into injection molding or extrusion processes. Ring and spade sensors are
designed to measure the surface temperature of plastic injection nozzles, tubes or pipes.
Rubber
The majority of tire and flexible tubing manufacturers, as well as other similar companies in the
rubber industry, rely on Thermometrics RTDs and thermocouples to measure temperature in
their applications. Some sensor assemblies include connection heads and thermowells for rubber
compound mixers and other heavy-duty applications. Angle assemblies are also available upon
request.
Waste/Water
Thermometrics produces temperature sensor assemblies with connection heads for waste/water
treatment applications. Specific sensors are available with thermowell protection for heavy-duty
service. Thermometrics has the ability to calibrate each sensor they produce to meet the
consumers specifications.
