Måløy Verft AS to take part in EWEA Offshore in Frankfurt 2013 Måløy Verft AS is taking part in the EWEA Offshore in Frankfurt 2013 to present the yard and their proven S-Cat service vessels for offshore wind farm crew transportation. The need for a more reliable transfer to and from the wind farms as well as the increased focus and requirement offshore safety for wind farm workers led to the development of this purpose built high speed catamaran. With a unique combination of being a High Speed Light Craft certified to the highest safety standards of the IMO 2000 HSC, as well as having SWATH capabilities when docking and during bad weather transit the concept has become a bench mark within the industry. Add the ability to carry 24 service crew, the vessel has proven to be a market leader. Per date two vessels have been built and delivered, Yard no. 15 “FOB Swath 1” in 2011, and Yard no. 16 “GESA” in 2012. Both vessels have proven their very good sea keeping abilities, high comfort for the crew and passengers, along with reliable operation with a very high regularity in the demanding waters of the North Sea.
