HiS MEDICAL X-RAY PROCESSING FIXER The universal X-Ray film fixer system for automatic processing machines. Long level of sulphur dioxide emission from working solutions Very clean working Optimised replenishment rates Suitable for the processing of all currently available Medical and Industrial Radiographic and Imaging films Readily introduced by replenishment to existing solutions For use in all automatic processing machines at all time cycles Packs available for all chemical mixers Full office based and field based technical support Processing of all film materials compatible with the HiS X-RAY FIXER system. Fixer temperature The temperature of the fixer bath should be set the same as for the developer bath. Replenishment Rates General Departments Specialist Departments 550 – 730 ml/m² 480 – 820 ml/m² (70 – 90 ml/350 x 350 mm film) (60 – 100 ml/350 x 350 mm film) The above recommendations are based on the requirements of a general hospital department and when specialised techniques are employed the fixer injection rates should be modified by plus or minus 10 – 15%. Preparation of Solutions Full details concerning the preparation of HiS X-RAY FIXER solutions are provided either on the pack labels, or with the concentrates, and these should be followed carefully. NB: Any information concerning chemical preparation, marked on the processing machine, or printed in the machine handbook, should be disregarded if it conflicts with the recommendations printed on the HiS X-RAY FIXER packs or in this leaflet. NOTE: Extreme care should be taken to avoid cross-contamination of the developer solutions with fixer, since even small volumes of fixer in the developer will cause large processing variations. Before a tank is refilled, it should be completely drained, thoroughly cleaned with PROCESSOR SYSTEMS CLEANER, and flushed out with water. Preparation of Initial Tank Solutions The same solution as for replenishment is used for the initial filling of the machine fixer tank. Storage Concentrates: All of the HiS X-RAY FIXER processing system concentrates have a normal storage life of at least 12 months, when held in full, tightly capped containers under steady temperature conditions in the range 13 – 18 ºC. However, storage temperatures below 5 ºC should be avoided as some crystallisation may occur. Working Strength Solutions: The vat life of fixer replenisher is 3 – 6 months under temperate (13 – 18 ºC) conditions. At higher ambient temperatures this may be reduced by at least 50%.
