Use the following chart to complete analytical commentary for both How to Write a Sentence by Stanley Fish and The
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. Type in the spaces provided, and expand the boxes as needed as you type.
As you specifically reference points in the Fish text, provide page and paragraph citations in the right column. The citation
should look like the following example: (Pg. 30, Par. 2). Please type in Times New Roman with a 10 pt. font. Each
response should be a well-developed paragraph. Using the table format below is preferable. However, if your software has
trouble formatting the table, feel free to format your responses in standard paragraphs with the appropriate headings. If you
do this, list the page and paragraph citations below each typed paragraph. Make sure you are ready to discuss both texts in
class.

Writing/Style Critique: After reading both texts, use the spaces below to provide
commentary in which you analyze the technical aspects of Twain’s writing based on
the topic/focus of each chapter in Fish’s text. Make sure to discuss the main points in
the Fish text while providing textual evidence/examples of those points found in the
Twain novel. Remember, you are synthesizing the information in each chapter of the
Fish text and connecting it to the actual writing style(s) and meanings found in Huck
Finn.
