“It was an eye-opener to discover so many students of merit in need of financial assistance,
stated Rochelle Diamond, Chair of NOGLSTP. “ Every one of the applicants give so much
back to the LGBT community and yet find the time to do well in their difficult fields of study.
NOGLSTP is excited to open the application process again this year and begin to read about
these amazing student applicants. I only wish we had the funds to award every worthy applicant
a scholarship, but we only can award one undergraduate and one graduate scholarship per year
at this point.”, she added.
The scholarships, funded at a minimum of $5,000 each, will be awarded for the fall, 2012 academic
year. Students currently enrolled at any U.S.-based college or university are eligible to apply.
Student applicants must meet the following criteria:

Successful completion of a minimum of two years of post-high school education at an
accredited college or university.

Maintenance of a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 for the entirety of
college/university enrollment.

A declared major in an accredited STEM or STEM-related teaching field.

Be an active supporter of and participant in programs or organizations that promote LGBT
inclusion and visibility.
Online scholarship applications will be available through the NOGLSTP website (www.noglstp.org)
on April 1. Applications must be submitted with supporting documentation no later than June 1.
