動物權與人權
• 湯姆雷根說：「人權的理性基礎也是動物權的理性基
礎。因此動物權的運動者也是人權運動者的夥伴，例
如女權、少數團體、或工人權利等。」
• The theory that rationally grounds the rights of animals
also grounds the rights of humans. Thus those involved in
the animal rights movement are partners in the struggle to
secure respect for human rights---the rights of women, for

nonhuman animals are automatons that cannot feel pain.
達爾文(Charles Darwin)：人與動物只是程度(degree)，

growing list of schools across the United States that have said "no" to
battery eggs. George Washington University, American University, Marist
College (New York), Vassar College (New York), University of Arizona,
and University of Connecticut have all ended or dramatically reduced their
use of battery eggs.

Boiling lobsters alive is illegal in Reggio, Italy.
Offenders face fines of up to $600.
Scientific evidence that lobsters, like other animals,
are capable of experiencing pain and suffering.

自古至今人食用動物所以應該繼續存在




已經廢除之惡質傳統：奴隸制度(slavery)、羅
馬格鬥競技(Roman gladiatorial contests)、酷刑
(torture)、公開死刑(public executions)、活焚巫
女(witch burning)、種族主義(racism)。
不必怕停止對動物的剝削與奴役(enslavement)
自古至今人食用動物所以應該繼續存在？
自古至今人謀殺人所以也應該繼續存在？

畜產業是大型產業，若全面
停工經濟會不會癱瘓？




獲利高不是保護的充分條件，那毒品業、色情業
都比畜牧業獲利高，是否也要保護？
煙草業價值億萬美金，但還是一定要將之終結。
剝削動物的副作用是：污染、大量的伐林、地球
資源無法永續利用，最後導致人類滅亡。
大家少吃肉畜產業會慢慢減少，畜產業的工作人
員可以轉業到環保、保育等工作。

拉馬克主義Larmarckism：用進
廢退說，演化是一個人位於最
高點的線性階梯。
達爾文主義Natural Selection：
輻射天擇說，演化是各物種的
天擇。

拉馬克主義餘孽：人種分級
• 納粹認為德國人是優秀人種，猶太人
是不值得存活的劣質人種。
• 在大屠殺時代(Holocaust)，納粹認定
之低劣人種(racial inferiority)是：
(1)吉普賽人,
(2)殘障,
(3)斯拉夫民族 (波蘭人、俄國人等),
(4)政治與行為歧視：
(a)共產黨,
(b)社會主義者,
(c)耶和華見證會,
(d)同性戀者

物競天擇、弱肉強食一直在世界上運行
著，想要勝過這些力量是不切實際的！
• Selective moral fatalism (選擇性的道德宿命論):
那人生了病為何還要治療？應該讓體質惡劣的
淘汰---物競天擇和進化論嘛！
• 結論：這種論調是刻意要繼續剝削動物與弱勢，
且繼續讓強勢享受弱勢犧牲的成果的論調；我
們絕不承認，也絕不拋棄弱勢！

肝醬 (foie gras) 。

York亦禁止為了生產鵝肝醬而強
