Appointment Brief – Trustees July v.1 RN/FGP Dear Candidate Thank you for your enquiry about these important Trustee roles at Age UK Hereford and Localities. Now, more than ever before, Age UK has a crucial role to play in ensuring that older people are able to live independent and fulfilling lives within their communities. In order to do this we need a robust management and staffing structure, supported by a strong Board of Trustees with the skills to help to steer the organisation through what will be challenging times. Over the past four years the organisation has transformed itself from four previously independent Age Concerns to one organisation delivering services across most of Herefordshire. This puts us in a strong position locally, regionally and nationally. We have a long and successful history of delivering high quality information and advice alongside a range of other services relevant to the needs of older people, their families and carers and our mission is to maintain and develop this position for the benefit of those living in Herefordshire. Our current Board of Trustees, which has been brought together from the Boards of the constituent organisations, is committed to working together to ensure that the organisation continues to succeed. In order to achieve this, we need to expand the skill base of the Board, which is where you come in! I very much hope, therefore, that you will actively consider joining us in the work that we are doing, and know that by doing so you will help transform the lives of many older people across Herefordshire.
