Areas of responsibility and key tasks: Strategic direction and development of your subject area (with the support of and under the direction of the Head Teacher and Leadership Team) Develop and implement policies and practices which reflect the schools commitment to high achievement for all pupils through effective teaching and learning; Develop plans for your class and or subject area which identify clear targets, timescales and success criteria for its development and/or maintenance in line with the school development plan; Monitor progress and evaluate the effects on teaching and learning by working alongside colleagues and partnership agencies, analysing work and outcomes and implementing new initiatives. Provide clear feedback and accurate written executive summaries which measure impact and clearly inform school self-evaluation. Teaching and Learning Ensure continuity and progression in your subject area by supporting colleagues in choosing the appropriate sequence of teaching and teaching methods and setting clear learning objectives and accurate success criteria, through an agreed scheme of work, developed in line with the school development plan; Evaluate the teaching in your subject area by the monitoring of teacher’s plans and through work analysis, identify effective practice and areas for improvement and take appropriate action to improve further the quality of teaching and learning.
