available and offer a lot of variety. Students
can take courses in one of two sessions: June
17 - July 19 or July 22 – August 16. The
Student Services Office has course
information and registration forms. High
school students can get credit for physical
education, health, personal and financial
literacy, language arts, social studies,
physical science, biology, and more! There
will be no fee for 2013 Summer School

year.
SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP/AWARDS
NIGHT
*** Don't forget the popular Freshman
Forward for incoming 9th graders in
August!
The Preble High School Senior Awards
Night will be held on Wednesday, May 22,
2013. This is a night to honor those seniors
who have received scholarships. The
ceremony will begin at 6:00 P.M. and will
be held in the Preble auditorium. Students
and parents will be invited to attend this
event based on the student’s responses to a
survey they complete asking if they have
received any scholarships. This survey will
be distributed to all seniors in April.
Parents, please help ensure that your child
returns this survey promptly.
Summer school forms can be completed online, or can be mailed to the Green Bay Area
Public Schools Office Building at 200 South
Broadway by the appropriate deadline.
Students who register for courses by the
general registration deadline will know by
the first week of June if there was sufficient
enrollment to hold the course.
Any student interested in summer school
is expected to attend every day - family
vacations are not considered excused
absences. Summer school is not the best
option if these plans are already in place.
The registration deadline is Friday, April
19th. Once classes are full, students will
be selected by a lottery system. If you
have questions, please contact your School
Counselor at 391-2402, or call the District
Office at 448-2000.

An officer from the Military Entrance

administer the Armed Services Vocational

helps students to identify their different

performance to that of other students at your
grade level. Scores on this assessment can
qualify students for certain jobs and training
in the Armed Forces. The length of this
exam is approximately 3.5 hours.
If juniors, or seniors, are interested in taking
the ASVAB, please sign up in the Career
Center by Friday, April 19th, and pick up

JUNIOR INFORMATION
FRESHMAN INFORMATION
JUNIOR/PARENT/COUNSELOR
MEETINGS
Parents and guardians of juniors will meet
with their guidance counselors to review
transcripts and discuss post high school
plans. These are called an Individual
Planning Conference or IPC. These
conferences will assist parents and their
children to prepare for their future whether
they are going into the work world, military,
technical, or four-year colleges. This will be
a great opportunity for parents and juniors to
start planning their senior year and beyond.
Questions will be answered and resource
materials will be available. If you have not
done so, please call 391-2402 to schedule
your Individual Planning Conference.
JUNIORS-COLLEGE ENTRANCE
EXAMS
Juniors are encouraged to take their college
entrance exams, ACT/SAT, in the spring of
their junior year. Tests can be taken more
than once, if necessary. The ACT is now
the most commonly used test, but the SAT
may be required for some out-of-state
schools. Preble High School’s school code,
500-795, needs to be included on the
ACT/SAT registration form so that test
scores can be added to the student’s
official transcript. Stop in the Career
Center to research college requirements.
Registration packets are available in Student
Services and/or visit the website:
www.actstudent.org (ACT) or
www.collegeboard.com (SAT).
