HISTORICAL FIGURES OF THE REVOLUTIONARY PERIOD

3. Student will bring his/her historical figure to life in two (2) ways
A. Character
i. Appropriate clothing of the historical figure

ii. Will present information to the audience relating to their involvement
in the American Revolution
a. May use the presentation as a guideline only
b. Do NOT read straight from the presentation… Remember that
you ARE this historical figure! May use index cards as cues!!
B. Powerpoint or Prezi Presentation
i. Introductory Slide: Name
a. Include all names, even if they had an alias
ii. Auto-Biography
a. Include where they were born, raised, and died
b. Any family information that would be relative to the time period
c. Any interesting or bizarre facts? If so, then include in this
section
iii. Involvement/contributions to the Revolution
a. A detailed description of their part in the Revolution whether
direct or indirect
i.
Indirect: they did not play a major role
ii.
Direct: they did play a major role
iv. Pictures, Paintings, Drawings that represented the historical figure
a. Include a picture, painting, or drawing of the historical figure (if
applicable)
b. Any pictures or artifacts that represent your historical figure
may be included here
v. Works Cited Slide
a. 3 source minimum
b. 1 of your sources MUST be a book! This does not include an
encyclopedia!! (It can be your textbook)
c. Must include the URL or Hyperlink for any websites

Search engines do NOT count as sites (ie. Google, Yahoo,
Bing)

New Georgia Encyclopedia Online is a GREAT resource!!
d. The slide must be set up using APA or MLA Format
i.
Go to www.easybib.com and it will cite your sources for you
using the appropriate format!
4. Time
A. You will be given time at the beginning of the period to change into
character
B. Your rubric will indicate the length of your presentation
5. Due Date
A. Presentations will begin Monday, October 28 and run through Friday,
November 1
i. You will receive a “0” if you are not ready to present on your scheduled
day
a. You WILL be allowed to turn in the presentation, but will lose
points for each day it is late according to the syllabus
b. Excused absences are the ONLY exception to this rule!
