ANNEX 1: Instructions for the motivation letter:
1. Make sure to address the following points in your motivation letter:
- Why do you want to participate in the CTCN Secondment Programme?
- Describe how your educational and professional background complements the work of the CTCN.
- What makes your experience with climate change mitigation and/or adaptation technology
beneficial to the mission of the CTCN?
- How would you describe your own personality? Point out your strengths.
- Explain how you are planning to apply what you have learned at the CTCN after you have returned
to your home country. How will it help you achieve your professional goals?
2. Do not repeat the information that you already provided in the Personal History Form, but feel
free to refer to it.
3. Use an appropriate style of writing:
- Pay attention to grammar and spelling
- Avoid platitudes, flowery phrases and flattery
- Be reflective and base your statements on facts
Keep in mind that your letter of motivation may be discussed during the pre-selection
