
Announcement of the 16 teams advancing to the Trade Show
o Notification of advancement will be done by email.
Monday, April 18:

One-Page Abstracts due
o Deadline: 5:00 p.m.
o Submit to: SNVC@wichita.edu
Teams participating in the Trade Show must submit a 100 word abstract, a jpeg of your logo (if applicable),
as well as a short 30 word description of your business. This information will be provided to the judges prior
to the Trade Show.

Student set up: 10:00 a.m.
People’s Choice Award Judging: 2 – 3 p.m.
Judging: 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Please come prepared with thorough information about your venture concept and we strongly suggest
bringing business cards.
Friday, April 29:

Final Round
o Students arrive: 8:00 a.m., Devlin Hall, 2nd Floor, Innovation Hub Room 215
o Presentations:
o Teams 1 – 3:
 Time: 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Devlin Hall, 107
o Teams will be responsible for providing their own lunch
 Teams will need to arrive back at the Innovation Hub no later than 1:00 p.m.
o Teams 4-6:
 Time: 1:30 – 4 p.m., Devlin Hall, 107
 Deliberation:
o Time: 4 – 4:45, Devlin Hall, 2nd Floor Conference Room
 Awards Ceremony
o Time: 5 – 6 P.M., Devlin Hall Lobby
o Winners Announced: 5 P.M
o Open to all judges, faculty advisors, teams & the public
Finals presentations are open to the public.
Each team will give a business pitch lasting about 15 minutes, treating the judges as potential investors.
There will be up to 15 minutes additional for judges’ questions and feedback. Students will wait upstairs in
the student resource room until it is their turn to present.
A slide presentation and/or demonstration is required. There will be a projector and screen available.
Please notify Shocker New Venture staff of the electronic devices you will need access to during your
presentation when you arrive.

Reception & Award Ceremony
o Time: 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
o Location: KFBF Innovation Hub, Devlin Hall, Room 215, Wichita State University
o Winners Announced: 5 p.m.
The reception and award ceremony is open to the public and all of those who participated in the Shocker
New Venture Competition. Students will have an opportunity to network with the prominent community
business leaders that served as judges throughout the competition.
