Reading Promotion Program
January 28- February 1

I met with the principal to discuss signing up the school for a reading incentive program.
We decided to participate in the Read to Succeed, a free educational program sponsored
by Six Flags. This program encourages students to read for six hours in the month of
February in order to receive a free ticket to Six Flags (2.2; 3.3; 4.3).

I signed up for the school to participate in the Read to Succeed program. I printed out the
parent letter and reading log and provided a copy for all the students. I introduced the
Read to Succeed program during morning announcements to encourage students to
participate in the program (2.2; 4.4).
February 4- February 8

I promoted the new Read to Succeed program with all the classes (2.2).

During the staff meeting, I explained the components of the reading incentive program,
Read to Succeed, to all teachers. (4.3; 4.4).
February 11- February 15

In collaboration with the 6th grade teacher, Ms. McRae, I facilitated a poster contest to
promote the Six Flags Read to Succeed Reading Program (1.3; 2.2).

I displayed the winning posters around school to promote the Six Flags Reading Program
(2.2).
February 25- February 28

Entered all the reading logs onto to the Six Flags website. 145 students participated in
Read to Succeed program (3.2).
May 6- May 10

Labeled and distributed the Six Flags tickets from the Read to Succeed program (2.2).
