Clinical Myotherapy: Pathways Clinical Myotherapy Pathway Opportunities The Clinical Myotherapy degree currently holds the highest AQF level of Myotherapy Education in the Asia Pacific region. The Southern School now offers clear pathway opportunities for practitioners to upgrade their qualifications in Remedial Massage at certificate and diploma levels and Myotherapy at an advanced diploma level. Opportunities also exist for those with related bachelor of health science qualifications Why Upgrade? Expand health science knowledge in cadaveric anatomy, pharmacology, pathology and neurosciences that underpin a sound clinical practice Expand knowledge in neuropsychology and pain management to better educate and support patients in your care Expand knowledge in exercise rehabilitation, biomechanics and lifestyle management to progress patients through each stage of recovery Develop existing skills in assessment and differential diagnosis for improved patient outcomes Create pathways to Masters qualifications in allied health and research The following table outlines the qualifications and the pre-approved credit transfer: Your Qualification We Give You … Towards Certificate IV in Massage Therapy 30 credit points / 3 subjects BHSc Clinical Myotherapy Practice (see p. 3 for details) Diploma of Remedial Massage 80 credit points / 8 subjects BHSc Clinical Myotherapy (see p.4 for details) Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy 120 credit points /12 subjects BHSc Clinical Myotherapy (or former Advanced Diploma of (see p.5 for details) Remedial Massage: Myotherapy) *please note that the credit policy is subject to change at any time following ongoing academic reviews. This Credit Transfer takes into consideration a student’s prior formal learning attained by successful completion of one or more subjects / units of competency with an accredited provider. This specified credit transfer is used where the content and learning outcomes of a subject from an accredited course are deemed comparable to the content and learning outcomes of a Think subject. Applicants may also be eligible to apply for additional credits, of up to 240 credits in total, via recognition of prior learning based on additional study or training completed. Many of our classes will have online options for self-paced study to fit in with your clinical practice hours.
