Q1. When are the assessment windows for the i-Ready diagnostic assessment?
 Beginning of the year: September 29 – October 31
 Mid-year: February 2 – March 6, 2015

Q2. How much time does the diagnostic assessment take? How should we schedule test sessions?

Q3. Which grade levels and which content areas does i-Ready assess?
The diagnostic assessment measures reading and math domains for students in kindergarten through
grade 12, aligned to the Common Core State Standards. Some high school students score high enough
during the first window to place out of the assessment for winter and spring.
Q4. Whom should I call if I need help logging into i-Ready or can’t find a student’s name in the
class roster?

Send questions about how to administer the i-Ready diagnostic assessment and use the
reporting features to the Assessment Office, 7080 | email: i-Ready@kent.k12.wa.us.

Send questions about computers, hardware, and software issues, and other kinds of technical
support to KSD Customer Support, 7030 | email: CSC@kent.k12.wa.us

If you are not seeing students in your roster, they do not have a record in Skyward. A
student’s record must be entered in Skyward before the student will appear in i-Ready. It may
take up to 48 hours between update in Skyward and being included in the teacher’s i-Ready
class roster. You school data processor should be able to assist.
Q5. How do I get help running a report on my classroom or school?
Training on how to run and use the reporting features will be held in mid-November. However, every
school has administrators/other support staff who attended the “i-Ready Kick-Off training” on
September 5, 2014. Please check first with your building instructional coach or team. If additional help
is needed, contact the Assessment Office 7080 | email: i-Ready@kent.k12.wa.us.
Q6. Are we recommending testing all students? Regardless of language or developmental ability?
All students who can meaningfully engage in the online diagnostic assessment should participate in iReady, and are highly encouraged to take the test as a diagnostic tool. If students cannot be
meaningfully engaged by the test or need accommodations that are not available, they can be excused
from i-Ready. The teacher can be the best judge of this.
Students/parents opting out should be reported to the assessment office – we will need to keep track of
opt-outs and refusals.
Q7. What kind of accommodations are available for students taking i-Ready?

Audio support (in English) is provided for questions at the kindergarten to grade 2 level for
Reading, and kindergarten to grade 5 for Math.

Students at assigned grade levels of 6 and above who miss a certain number of questions will
receive questions that are at lower grade levels, as the online assessment adapts down.

Scratch paper should be provided for all students for the math portion of i-Ready.

Online tools will be provided where needed for certain test questions, for example an online
calculator or spreadsheet for some of the math questions.

Separate settings can be provided, if needed.

There is no print or printed out version of i-Ready.

