Geometry Construction Project This Construction Project gives you the opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge of the use of constructions, using a compass, straight edge, or string. Select and complete the project listed below. Your project will be evaluated by other Geometry students as well as by the teacher. You will have 2 periods to complete your project. During the second period, we will have a gallery walk where your peers will be providing your project with feedback, using a provided rubric. You will have the remaining period to make any necessary changes. The last day to submit your completed project will be _____________________________. No Late work will be accepted. On a poster board (11” x 17” minimum and desired but no bigger than 22”x28”), use each of the constructions listed below to create a landscape, dream room, or theme park of your own creation. All constructions must be labeled. All construction marks must be visible. All constructions must be an integral part of the drawing concept (not simply placed on the drawing). The drawing you create must be artistically colored. List of Minimally Required Constructions: Copy a segment Copy an angle Bisect a segment Bisect an angle Construct a perpendicular line Perpendicular bisector of a line segment Construct a line parallel to a given line through a point not on the line Equilateral triangle Square Regular hexagon inscribed in a circle Things to keep in mind… No computer aided constructions will be accepted No late work will be accepted Construction marks must be clearly visible This project will be judged on: o Completeness Each item included Visible construction marks for each item o Neatness o Accuracy o Originality and artistic merit Compared to peer contributions Average presentation Constructions Project – Grading Rubric Name: _______________________________ Completeness: Five points for each construction incorporated as an integral design element of the landscape, dream room, or theme park. For the construction to be considered complete, it must display the appropriate construction marks and be clearly labeled.
