Northeast Ohio Medical University Department of Family and Community Medicine and Northeastern Ohio Network® (NEON®) presents 27th Annual Northeast Ohio Family and Community Medicine Scholarship Day May 25, 2016 Call for Abstracts We invite residents and faculty from Family and Community Partner Residencies to present their research, case report or quality project at Scholarship Day. We encourage you to share your scholarly work with your colleagues. CMEs available commensurate with participation. SEE REVERSE SIDE FOR SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Submission Guidelines All abstracts must be accompanied by a completed Abstract Submission Form and emailed to Denise Kropp (djkropp@neomed.edu) no later than April 1, 2016. All abstracts will be blinded for scoring which is done by the NEON® Committee to determine if presentation will be oral or poster presentation. Abstract maximum word count is 300 words; exceeding the maximum count will result in point deduction from score. There will be 8 oral presentations for both resident and faculty sessions, which will be the 8 highest scoring abstracts for each group with the rest to be presented as posters. The author will be notified by April 20, 2016 of the decision of the review committee regarding the type of presentation. Research abstracts must include: Background & Significance with Relevance to Family Medicine, Specific Hypothesis, Methods, Results, and Conclusions/Recommendations/Implications. Case Report abstracts must include: Literature Review (Gap analysis) with Relevance to Family Medicine, Case History/Description, Case Assessment and Resolution (tests and treatment), Discussion, and Conclusions/Recommendations/Implications. Quality Improvement abstracts must include: Background & Significance with Relevance to Family Medicine, Problem Statement, Methods, Outcomes, and Conclusions/Recommendations/Implications. Presentations will be judged for first, second and third place winners for both oral and poster sessions for residents on Scholarship Day. Monetary awards will be provided to residents who place first, second and third based on judges’ scores for both oral and poster presentations. There will be a keynote address prior to the start of the faculty presentation session. Oral presentations must have complete data by the time of the presentation. This scholarly event is free to participants. Continental breakfast, lunch and breaks are included. Free parking is available on site. 1) Oral presentations are 10 minutes long plus 2 minutes for questions and answers. 2) All posters will be mounted on easels and should be approximately 32”x44” in size.
